Skin Surgery London

Affordable Skin Surgery in London carried out by a
NHS Hospital Surgeon
Operating Privately on the Weekend!

Skin Tag removal. Wart Cryotherapy.
Mole & Cyst & Lipoma removal surgery.

Unfortunately, the NHS is unable to provide minor cosmetic surgery as it takes away funding from more important services.

As NHS Doctors we understand this, but feel very disappointed for patients who cannot get rid of lesions on their body which blight their life. We empathise with patients having to pay extraordinary prices to remove simple lesions.

Here, at The GP Surgery, we try our best to provide you with the most affordable skin surgery in London, performed by an extremely experienced Hospital Surgeon.

Don’t worry if you don’t know which procedure listed below is suitable for your skin lesion. Your Surgeon will only have your interest in mind and attempt to offer you the most cost effective solution to your problem.

To book your initial Surgery assessment consultation appointment with your doctor, please use the On-Line booking system (please let us know what lesion you want removed). This allows you to be in complete control of when you need to be seen. We would be very grateful if you could contact us to cancel your appointment if you are unable to make it.

Alternatively, you can Call us or email us so that we may make the booking for you.

Our criteria for surgery:

  • No children < 16 years of age (however, cryotherapy may be possible).
  • No malignant lesions.
  • No holiday after your operation for 2 weeks.

Consultation

All patients will have a consultation with Dr (Mr) Masha Singh prior to any procedure being undertaken. We advise all patients to bring a list of their regular medications along with them for the appointment. Once the diagnosis has been explained to you, you will be able to discuss options of treatment and decide how you would like to proceed and what may be best for you.

Following your consultation, we aim to provide treatment on the same day, but in some rare circumstances this may not be possible and you may be asked to attend on another occasion.

You will be given a written quotation for the total costs of the procedure before undertaking any treatment. For further information, please see our prices under each section.

When a lesion is being excised, we do strongly recommend sending the lesion for histopathological testing to confirm the pathology and ensure it is nothing untoward. This does incur a fee of £80 per lesion, but is optional. If you choose not to have the lesion sent away for testing, you will accept full responsibility of not knowing whether the lesion may have been something that required further treatment following excision. This is very rare however and should there be any concerns at the time of excision, this will discussed with you. If your Surgeon is concerned that the lesion may potentially be cancerous, he will refuse to do the Surgery unless you allow him to send it off for histological analysis.

If you are undergoing cryotherapy, we recommend a repeat visit in 8 weeks time to ensure the lesion has resolved. Sometimes, more than one treatment is required.

For steroid injections for keloid scars, these often require more than one treatment and at the time of consultation a treatment regime will be outlined for you to give you the best possible results.

Pre-operative Preparation

It can often be very helpful to research the lesion you have before attending. The internet can be a great source of information, but often you will see sites claiming to give you unrealistic results and these expectations can lead to dissatisfaction with the final results you may achieve. We aim to give clear and realistic exceptions to all of our patients.

Post-Operative Care

Following your procedure, you will almost certainly have dressings on your wound. For most procedures, you may require dressings for 1-3 weeks. The exact length will depend on your specific procedure. If you have any sutures that need removing, we can arrange for this with our practice nurse or you may be seen your own practice nurse at your NHS GP Surgery.

If you have any concerns about your wound following your surgery, we would ask that you contact us for advice and we will endeavour to support you through any concerns that you may have.
